IRON COUGAR  [ai-ern ‘kuger]  (noun) 

A 50+ woman who values physical activity and attempts to live a healthy lifestyle. 

Iron Cougar Fitness is an inclusive approach to physical activity for women 50+ that draws upon its community to mobilize engagement for all women and girls.  We welcome those with deep ‘Iron Footprints’ (portfolios) of lifelong physical activity, and others with shallow Iron Footprints but regardless value its life-enriching power.

 MOTIVATE all 50+ women to sustain regular, achievement-oriented physical activity and grow their Iron Footprint

 INFLUENCE the Iron Footprint growth and achievement-oriented engagement of ALL women and girls

  • IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BEGIN TO BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE; YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO GROW YOUR IRON FOOTPRINT
  • Physical activity uniquely and profoundly enriches life quality by stimulating physical, cognitive and emotional vigor and health protection 
  • The need for, response to, and benefit from physical activity is gender neutral
  • Engaged communities are powerful transformers
  • Women 50+ can uniquely influence womens/girls achievement-oriented physical activity by having successfully solved barriers and as family hubs: at the same time can be moms – grandmothers – aunts – nieces - sisters – daughters
